Ring sizing sounds simple. It isn’t.
Most people only realise that when a ring arrives and doesn’t fit. It’s rarely one obvious mistake, but a mix of small things -timing, temperature, band width - that aren’t always explained. Get those wrong, and even the “right” size can feel off.
Start with a proper measurement
The method matters more than people think. String, printouts, and paper guides aren’t accurate enough to rely on. A proper metal ring sizer removes most of the guesswork straight away. That could be one of our precision sizers, or a quick visit to a local jeweller for a professional measurement.
Your fingers aren't a fixed size
Your ring size changes throughout the day. Fingers are usually smaller in the morning and slightly larger by the evening. Temperature, movement, and even hydration all play a part. A single measurement won’t give you the full picture - take a few across different times and look for what feels consistently right.
Width changes the fit
Not all rings feel the same, even in the same size. Wider bands sit across more surface area, which makes them feel tighter than a narrow ring. We recommend going up one size for rings 6mm and above. Our precision sizers are 3mm wide, so wider bands will naturally feel tighter at the same size.
When in doubt, size up
A tighter ring isn’t the safer option - it can be uncomfortable and risks getting stuck. If you’re between sizes, it’s better to size up or choose a half size.
If it doesn't fit
Even with care, plenty of people don’t get the fit right first time - no need to panic. Depending on the material, we offer a free resize or exchange within 30 days of delivery, as long as the ring is unworn and in its original condition. Simply get in touch and we’ll take care of it. If any additional resizing is needed after this period, charges will apply - just contact us for details.
Need a hand?
If you’re unsure, just ask. We’d always rather help you get it right than have you guessing. You can get in touch or visit our sizing page for more guidance.
